Casa Decor 2019: Highlights

There is less than a month before the opening of theCasa Decor exhibition. We are looking forward to seeing the new spaces but it will be necessary to wait a little. In the meantime, we have made a compilation of Casa Decor 2019 Highlights.

You want to know them? Here is a selection of the 5 most important details.

Natural elements, kings of the spaces

Many of the spaces chose to incorporate natural elements:

  • Wood: present in the beautification of walls, ceilings, and elaborate woodwork by using “palillery”. An example is the “Wood Work” office.
  • Cork: Present in furniture and decoration, we also saw it in as a wall covering. Check the Embassy of Portugal space by Erico Navazo.
  • Stone: Usual element at Casa Decor, it could not be missing in the list. Many times the stone was combined with backlights with which a contrast was achieved that enriched the final result as can be seen in this Jung Space.
Mosaics, colorful possibilities

Closely related with the first point, the mosaics were the protagonists of this edition. The mosaic escapes from kitchens and bathrooms to integrate into the walls of any room. A mixture of materials, styles and colours that brings versatility to any project.  One example was the “Punk Revolution” Bar Room at SICIS Madrid by Miriam Alia.

Domotics, the automation of spaces

We are sure that home automation will play a very important role in this edition as it was demonstrated last year thanks to companies like Niessen or Gira Ibérica. Domotics improves year by year both in design and usability to make life more comfortable for users, customizing the experience to the maximum.

At Casa Decor, we opted for an intelligent home that reinforces home security, comfort and energy savings. It is therefore not surprising that home automation is one of the strengths of Casa Decor 2020, the edition that is committed to sustainability.

The curve is the queen

For us, the curve is a source of inspiration and the characteristic element of all our collections.

That is why we were so happy to see that Casa Decor opted for the curve: round mirrors as we saw in countless spaces such as those of Frigicoll, Jacob Delafon or Maisons du Monde, decorative wall elements such as those used by the spaces of Niessen, Sicis Madrid or Saint-Gobain. Even armchairs and arches are elements present, an examples is the already mentioned Wonder Galaxy Dressing Room by Patricia Bustos.

Design furniture of course!

If there was one thing in the Casa Decor edition that we loved, it was the furniture. Designers opted for auxiliary and design furniture as a differentiator. You know, details make all the difference.

Almost all spaces shared the same furniture, in fact, some elements such as the armchairs, appeared in absolutely all of them. It happened in sofas, side tables, table lamps, etc.

However, there were no two identical pieces of furniture. Casa Decor is a reflection of how design is capable of creating different products from the same idea and this is not just a 2019 trend, this is the essence of Casa Decor.
